The main objective of this paper is to study the behavior of eco-friendly zero-cement concrete, its proportions, and its properties. The experimental program involves casting and testing many specimens divided into three main groups according to the percentage of added steel fibers in order to investigate the effect of steel fibers on the density, compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, and splitting tensile strength of concrete. The experimental outcomes indicated that the percentage of steel fibers has a small impact on the dry density: adding 0.5% and 1% of steel fibers increased the dry density by about 0.9% and 1.6% respectively. The percentage of steel fibers has an important impact on the compressive strength: after 28 days, steel fibers increased the compressive strength by about 4.9% and 12.8% for added steel fiber percentages of 0.5% and 1%. Also, the results indicated that steel fiber had an important impact on the splitting tensile strength in concrete after 28 days of curing: adding 0.5% and 1% steel fibers increased the splitting tensile strength by about 11.8%and 23.2% respectively. Finally, adding steel fibers has an impact on the modulus of elasticity: after 28 days, adding 0.5% and 1% steel fibers improved the modulus of elasticity approximately by 1.7% and 5%.

Decreasing the emissions of CO2 that come from vehicle exhaust, especially in car parking and tunnels, is so vital. CO2 emissions cause corrosion to a reinforcement of concrete. Thus, there is a need to provide a layer that protects the reinforcement from the reach of this harmful gas. This work goals to investigate the efficiency of using board units from Pozzolime concrete and pervious concrete to sequestrate CO2 from the environment and then to convert it into calcium carbonate inside the concrete. The units have dimensions of (200×400×40±5). All specimens were cured in a water tank after about 48 hours after casting. Then paint the sample from all surfaces (three layers) excluding the top surface. The pervious concrete and Pozzolime specimens, at age of 28 days, were put in the chamber, then the gas was supplied to the chamber with concentrations of 15%, 25%, and 50 %, for 24 hours. The efficiency was evaluated through carbonation depth, CO2-uptake, and weight change. The results showed that the maximum CO2 uptake was recorded at the age of 28 days for Pozzolime concrete when exposed to 50% of CO2 concentration.

Pozzolime concrete was reinforced with hooked-end steel fiber at (0.5,1.0 ,1.5, and 2) percent volume fractions.• The presence of steel fibers has a significant negative effect on the workability of all volume fractions tested. • The maximum compressive and flexural strength was acquired, with the addition of 1.5 percent. • The 1.5 percent volume fraction could be considered as the optimum fiber content.Pozzolime is a promising alternative binder, compared to Portland cement because of its low CO2 emission. it is produced by mixing hydrated lime, silica fume, and fly ash. Fiber is added to concrete to improve the durability, mechanical properties of the structure, and others. In this study, high-strength Pozzolime concrete was reinforced with hooked-end steel fiber which was added as fractions of volume of 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2%. Optimization for fiber content was performed according to the workability and strength of the fiber-reinforced mixture. Obtained results showed that the compressive strengths at 14d and 90d increased by 71.4% and 58.3% respectively when adding 1.5% steel fiber. Correspondingly, the 14d, 28d, and 90d flexural strength of pozzolime concrete increased by 170.4%, 203.2%, and 191.4% respectively at 1.5% and a further increase in fiber content caused a reduction in strength. The finding presented in this research confirmed that the volume fraction (1.5%) can be considered as the optimum content.
