“…for Cd and 25 mg kg _1 b.w. for Pb [27]. In this study Cd and Pb concentrations were higher that levels reported in literature for the Mediterranean basin [28,29] and suggest higher pollution levels for fish resources, this implies that the high consumption of these contaminated resources, especially in Skikda province, could indicate a risk of public health.…”

“…After cooling, samples were diluted with 7.5 mL of deionized water (Evoqua Water Technologies, Barbsbuttel, DE), followed by a further 5x dilution with 1 N HCl. Analysis was carried out according to the method described in Galimberti et al [], by using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP/MS 7700, Agilent Technologies USA) coupled with an ASX‐500 CETAC Autosampler (Cetac Technologies, Omaha NE, USA). Metal concentration in urine was normalized by creatinine concentration.…”

“…A large survey, administered in Spain, determined the concentrations of Cd and other metals in a number of food stuffs, and the group who ate fish and seafood showed the highest level of Cd and Pb (Llobet et al, 2003). The results from my study were consistent with other reports (Leblanc et al, 2000;Schmitt et al, 2006;Galimberti et al, 2016) Even though the concentration of Pb in human plasma and serum are very low compared to Pb in whole blood, it has been used as a biomarker for Pb exposure (Manton et al, 2001). The small amount of Pb in plasma and serum is related to the distribution of Pb in tissues such as bone, kidneys and nervous system (Hu et al, 1998).…”
