Abstract:Alteration of renal function during SARS-CoV-2 infection is frequent and is associated with excess mortality. It is multifactorial, involving mechanisms more specific to COVID-19: viral invasion, endothelitis and thrombosis, activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
