Evaluation of different soy protein concentrate sources on growth performance of weanling pigs (2003)

Abstract: Three experiments were conducted using 486 weanling pigs (216 in Experiment 1; 210 in Experiment 2; 60 in Experiment 3) to determine the effects of different soy protein concentrate (SPC) sources on growth performance. Soy protein concentrate source 1 is dried with a torus disk following the concentration of soy proteins. This drying procedure will generate some degree of heat and possibly mechanical forces somewhat similar to extrusion processing (Soycomil P®, ADM). Soy protein concentrate source 2 is dried … Show more

“…Compared to soy bean meal, isolates have demonstrated their superiority due to better lysine digestibility (Sohn et al, 1994) and better development of intestinal villus and crypt in small intestine (Li et al, 1990;Li et al, 1991) which in general influences better piglet production (Lenehan et al, 2003). In nutrition of weaned piglets, investigated Ekofish resulted in great stimulative effect and its use can be recommended (Kovčin et al, 2006).…”

“…Em razão de seu preço, disponibilidade e segurança alimentar, as fontes proteicas da soja são consideradas o foco de interesse na nutrição e elaboração de rações para os suínos Lenehan et al, 2003). Contudo, como relatado anteriormente, a inclusão destas fontes na dieta de leitões após o desmame é limitada, muito em função da presença de fatores antinutricionais e alergênicos Li et al, 1991a,b;.…”
