Evaluation of different promising agroforestry tree species on the soil health in sub temperate sub humid mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh

Abstract: The present investigation was carried out at the established plantations and laboratory of the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (H.P.) during the year 2008-2009. The experimental site lies in the mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh with an elevation of 1250 m above mean sea level. It is located at 30o 51' N latitude and 76o 11' E longitude. The study revealed higher nutrient contents at surface layer D1 (0-15cm) which decreased wit… Show more

“…As was previously mentioned, NPK fertilization and Bradyrhizobium inoculation each individually increased the yield components and chemical components of the guar plant; however, when combined, they may have the greatest impact, resulting in more pods per plant and the heaviest seed yield per plant and per feddan. Moreover, a suitable supply of NPK is in demand for optimum growth and yield output [3][4][5].…”

“…Guaran gum, which makes up 19-43% of the entire seed's endosperm and forms a viscous gel in acidified alcohol, also, it is present in substantial amounts in the spherical endosperm [2]. Due to their roles in protein synthesis, photosynthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, enzyme activity, nitrogen fixation, and nucleic acid metabolism, the nutrients nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (N, P, and K) are necessary for the growth and development of plants [3][4][5]. Moreover, the application of NPK fertilization at 6:3:3 rates resulted in the highest values for Salvadora persica plant growth attributes, root parameters, and greenness level [6].…”
