Evaluation of catalytic activity of [RuClCp(dmoPTA)(PPh3)](OSO2CF3) in the isomerization of allylic alcohols in water (dmoPTA=3,7-dimethyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane)

Abstract: Graphical AbstractIsomerization in presence of water under Ar and air of 1-octen-3-ol, 1-hepten-3-ol and 1-hexen-3-ol canalized by Ru (1) and Ru-M (M = Ni (2), Co (3), Zn (4)) complexes containing the ligand dmoPTA was investigated. *Graphical Abstract Highlights-Homogeneous catalytic isomerization of allylic-alcohols in presence of water.-Ru complexes containing the open adamantane phosphine dmoPTA.-Bi-heterometallic-Ru-M complexes (M = Co, Ni, Zn) containing dmoPTA.-Water and pH influence on the catalytic is… Show more

“…[1d], We have been interested in this field for years, firstly synthesizing and studying the family of water‐soluble ruthenium complexes [RuCpX(L 1 )(L 2 )] n + (X = Cl; L 1 , L 2 = PPh 3 , PTA, mPTA, mTPPMS) . Later on we studied also the effect on the antiproliferative activity of the bis‐ N ‐methylated PTA N , N′ ‐dimethyl‐1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane (dmPTA) and its derivative 3,7‐H‐3,7‐dimethyl‐1,3,7‐triaza‐5‐phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (HdmoPTA) . This last ligand can be easily deprotonated and the resulting neutral 3,7‐dimethyl‐1,3,7‐triaza‐5‐phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (dmoPTA) is able to coordinate metals through the soft P and the two hard N CH3 atoms, behaving in the latter case as a chelate .…”

“…Ligands PTA, mPTA (N‐methyl‐1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane) and its derivative dmoPTA (3,7‐dimethyl‐1,3,7‐triaza‐5‐phosphabicyclo[3.3.1] nonane) have an adequate hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance to move through the biological system, which most of the times does not vary after coordination to metals. We obtained promising results with platinum, and ruthenium complexes containing the water soluble phosphane PTA and its derivative mPTA and noteworthy also with dmoPTA, which showed to be an excellent ligand to synthesise ruthenium complexes active against cis platin sensitive and resistant cell lines.…”
