Twenty-five wild edible mushrooms from Northeastern Thailand were analyzed for their antioxidant activities, proteins, sugars, β-glucan, and phenolic profiles. Results showed that and exhibited the greatest scavenging activity (83.07 and 86.60%) and reductive power (9.79 and 8.42 g Fe(II)/kg, respectively). recorded the highest content of (+)-catechin and naringenin (13.40 and 0.74 g/kg dw), with the highest amount of quercetin and quercetin-3--rutinoside (1.82 and 1.16 g/kg dw, respectively). Both and also exhibited the greatest amounts of β-glucan (125.23 and 344.43 g/kg dw) and protein (343.30 and 452.20 g/kg dw, respectively) among the mushroom species evaluated. Results suggested that both and were a good source of healthy compounds, namely β-glucan and flavonoids, and could be used to mitigate diseases involving free radicals.

M ushrooms play an important role in the carbonnitrogen cycle by breaking down organic substance in nature [1]. In addition to its existence for centuries, fungi have been used as nutritious food in daily meal and therapeutic agent in medicine because they are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals [2].Auricularia polytricha is a macrofungus that is a member of Basidiomycota class and belongs to Auriculariaceae family [3]. They grow in Asia, tropical America, and other regions of the world [4]. The spread of fungal spores of A. polytricha are present in high amount during late July [5]. Culturing of this fungus is not difficult but slow like some other fungi [6]. A. polytricha is edible mushroom.

In this study, the possibility of using of chestnut (Castanea sativa) sawdust in Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostretatus and Pleurotus citrinopileatus) cultivation was investigated. Additionally; Pleurotus ostreatus cultivation on the substrates which was mixed of chestnut with black poplar (Populus nigra) and oriental spruce (Picea orientalis) was performed. Bioactive properties of these mushroom and their growth mediums were also examined. After a successful harvest, total phenolic, flavonoid, condensed tannin contents and antioxidant properties of mushrooms' methanolic extracts were determined. Same analyses were also performed for mushrooms substrates. The highest yield and biological efficiency was observed in P. ostreatus cultivated on 100% Castanea sativa substrate. The highest total phenolic content (2.529±0.010 mg GAE/g) was found in P. citrinopileatus cultivated on C. sativa sawdust and its substrate medium. Total flavonoid could not determine any mushroom. The highest total condensed tannin (3.691±0.011 CE mg/g) content was observed in P. ostreatus cultivated on C. sativa sawdust and its substrate medium; the highest ferric reducing antioxidant power (11.761±0.020 µmol FeSO 4 .7H 2 O/g) was seen in P. ostreatus mushroom cultivated on 50% P. orientalis + 50% C. sativa and 100% C. sativa substrate medium. The highest free radical scavenging activity of DPPH was in P. citrinopileatus and 100% C. sativa sawdust and 100% C. sativa substrate medium.
