“…The use of aromatic plants has been an important part of achieving modern intensive poultry production (Ghazanfari et al, 2015), due to their multiple positive effects on the health (Hashemi and Davoodi, 2010) through stimulation of appetite and feed intake (FI), the improvement of digestive enzyme secretion, activation of immune response (Rahimi et al, 2011), antibacterial properties (Patel and Vakilwala, 2016;Sambasivaraju and Fazeel, 2018), and antioxidant activity (Pathak et al, 2011). Phytogenics have been used as flavors, food preservatives, and medicines (Applegate et al, 2010).…”

“…In contrast, lavender oil is more potent against streptococci [59], as demonstrated by the 9 mm inhibition zone around S. pyogenes . Neither coriander nor lavender essential oils supressed the growth of MRSA and E. coli , despite contrasting reports in the literature [29,30,57,60]. One possible reason for this unexpected result could be the source of the oils.…”

“…Antibacterial activity against grampositive namely Staphylococcus aureus obtained inhibition zone diameter of (8.67 ± 0.32) mm when compared with Ampicillin (10.37 ± 0.30) mm and Gentamicin (10.37 ± 0.25), while the highest activity against E. coli (10.73 ± 0 , 21) mm compared with the Gentamicin antibiotic (9.47 ± 0.45) mm. Coriander also inhibits the growth of Salmonella typhii (9.53 ± 0.40) mm which is slightly lower than Ampicillin (10.57 ± 0.21) mm and has little antibacterial activity against Klebsiella (7.20 ± 0.17) mm but close to the antibacterial activity of ampicillin antibiotics (8.43 ± 0.25) mm [75] . The following table compares the antibacterial activity test of Coriandrum sativum L. essential oils which can be seen in Table 6.…”

“…Coriandrum sativum L. essential oil activity was tested using a different method, namely the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. Coriandrum sativum L. had a lower antibacterial activity for gram-positive bacteria than gram-negative bacteria [75] .…”
