Evaluation and Selection of Sustainable Strategy for Green Supply Chain Management Implementation

Abstract: The aim of this study is to explore the implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM) strategies and to select the best GSCM strategy using fuzzy analytical network process (ANP) methodology. The ANP helps in analyzing the interdependence and interrelations among the various determinants and dimensions of GSCM strategy selection. Fuzzy set theory is applied to avoid the vagueness and uncertainty in human preference judgement. This study uses an empirical case study of an Indian automobile organization… Show more

“…The top management, along with developing a framework for upgrading the environment, also decides the environmental strategies, the need for training (Govindarajulu & Daily, ), adequate and on‐time resource allocation (Zutshi & Sohal, ), and the enrolment and selection process to recruit people who are committed towards the betterment of our surroundings. Malviya, Kant, and Gupta () claimed that without the true support of top management, most of the organisational plan fails; GCSM implementation strategy is no exception. In this sense, GCSM is an important tool to support decision making and can be useful for justification of decisions made (Mohammed & Wang, ).…”

“…In the last few years, 2016-2018, papers develop the six topics analysed. Some authors focus their attention on the study of green supply chain management (i.e., Malviya et al 2018), and environmental management (i.e., Ormazabal et al 2017) from a resource-based-view (i.e., Brulhart et al 2017). The study of firm/corporate environment performance (i.e., Escrig-Olmedo et al 2017, Hartmann andVachon 2018) and its relationship to other topics such as environmental management systems (i.e., Martín-de Castro et al 2016) has significant development.…”

“…If all partners upstream and downstream in the supply chain commit to social responsibility, then the supply chain can achieve sustainable development (Ha‐Brookshire, ; Malviya, Kant, & Gupta, ). Investment in CSR has a positive effect on shareholder value and encourages more people to invest in the company.…”

“…The TISM technique can explain the interrelationships among evaluation criteria and present a structured and visible system, and the FANP method can be used to calculate the final score to determine the most appropriate candidate (Dube & Gawande, ; Hussain, Awasthi, & Tiwari, ). Previous authors introduced the FANP method to evaluate supplier selection (Govindan, Rajendran, Sarkis, & Murugesan, ; Malviya et al, ). Here, we add the TISM method and propose a combined methodology to address the supplier evaluation and selection problem, which includes removing the hierarchical relationships among evaluation criteria.…”
