Nowadays, building intelligent systems for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education is necessary to support the studying of learners. Intelligent problem solver (IPS) is a system that can be able to solve or tutor how to solve the problems automatically. Learners only declare hypothesis and goal of problems based on a sufficient specification language. They can request the program to solve it automatically or to give instructions that help them to solve it themselves. Knowledge representation plays a vital role in these kinds of intelligent systems. There are various methods for knowledge representation; however, they do not meet the requirements of an IPS in STEM education. In this paper, we propose the criteria of a knowledge model for an IPS in education. These criteria orient to develop a method for knowledge representation to meet actual requirements in practice, especially pedagogical requirements. For proving the effectiveness of these criteria, a knowledge model is also constructed. This model can satisfy these criteria and be applied to build IPS for courses, such as mathematics and physics.

Abstract. In many health jurisdictions, software is considered to be medical device software (MDS), when it is used to analyze patient data in order to render a diagnosis or monitor the patient's health; when it is to be used by a patient to diagnose an ailment; or when it is used to deliver functionality for a medical device. Flaws in MDS can result in patient harm, including death. Legislators and regulatory agencies publish guidelines and regulatory standards that are aimed at ensuring the safety, security and dependability of MDS. These guidelines and standards universally agree that a complete and consistent requirement specification is vital to the success of medical device software. Moreover, we observe that regulators are shifting from being process focused to being product focused in their approval guidance. In this paper, we review challenges associated with requirements used in the development of MDS, current standards and guidelines relevant to MDS, and existing templates for requirement specifications. We then propose a set of design objectives for a 'good' MDS requirements template and propose a template structure for MDS requirement specification fulfilling all the design objectives. Our template is, by design, tailored to facilitate the gathering and documenting of high quality requirements for MDS.

In contrast with the simple and elegant concept of global computing, also called ubiquitous computing -where daily life objects get now computing capacity and interact among them to provide a wide range of services to users -a major difficulty is arising with the software engineering process to develop applications for these devices. This article discusses the additional parameters that should be taken into account when designing and developing software for ubiquitous devices in ad-hoc networks. In these networks the mobility of the devices could increase the complexity of the requirements to be considered. As a case study, we present a Bluetooth application that has been developed to fulfill a variety of established requirements. The application allows the creation of different types of networks for non-expert users thanks to the context-aware capacity of Bluetooth.
