Estudo eletroforético de proteínas de músculo esquelético de Micropogonias furnieri (Desmarest, 1823) da costa SE-S do Brasil: 2. Variação ontogenética e estudo populacional

Abstract: Synopsis Electropherograms of general proteins of skeletic muscle of male and femaleMiChopogo~ Óunniehi, ranging from 112 to 718 mm in total length, were obtained in cellulose acetate membranes visualized by Ponceau S o The specimens werecollected in the area between Ubatuba (Sp) and Florianópolis (SC), and in Lagoa dos Patos (RS). The electropherograms were classified in three types, P, PF and A, and in six varieties, "i'~, "c", "r", "l", "lf" and "j", based on the qualitative and quantitative differences in … Show more

“…Ngan and Vazzoler (1976) used the pattern of plasma antigens analyzed by immunodiffusion and immuno-electrophoresis to develop a genetic approach for further genetic studies on this species, because previous physiological and morphological investigations indicated the existence of two populations along the southern Brazilian coast. In the early 1980s, the population genetics of Micropogonias furnieri were again assessed by electrophoresis of eye lenses and the skeletal muscle protein migration pattern (Vazzoler and Ngan 1989;Suzuki et al 1983aSuzuki et al , 1983b. These first genetic population studies on the white-mouthed croaker did not observe genetic differences between the populations surveyed, despite the restricted amount of loci used.…”
