Show more
“…The mechanical properties of conducting PAni have been investigated in the scientific literature only with respect to its blends, PAni usually acted as particulated conducting filler in a suitable matrix that provided the required mechanical properties. In order to overcome the intractability of ICPs and to bring them into the solution/melt, some techniques such as: introduction of bulky side groups or dopant ions into the polymeric chain or use of polymeric or surfactant stabilizers optimize the formation of ICP solutions [15][16][17] . Blends of conducting polymers with conventional polymers have been extensively studied [18][19][20][21] .…”
SbstractThe rheological properties of acrylic paints and polyaniline (PAni) blends, with different contents of PAni doped by dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA) and, dispersed by mechanical stirrer and ultrasonic, were investigated by controlled shear rate testing ramps. The results showed that the commercial acrylic paint had tended to deliver the required stability on the blends, in order to avoid sedimentation process. All samples exhibited non-Newtonian flow behavior (shear thinning), increasing PAni content the flow behavior index (n) decreased (0.41 to 0.11) and power law model were used to fitted the experimental curves. The results showed that the addition of PAni-DBSA affects the viscoelastic behavior of the mixtures due to the interactions between the components in the mixture. The best properties were obtained for samples 90/10 wt % dispersed by ultrasonic, indicating the feasibility of the usage as a conducting paint.

Development of Membrane and Freestanding Film as of Polyaniline: Synthesis, Characterization and ApplicationAbstract: Conducting polymers are a new class of polymers that has received particular interest for the production of membranes and films. The polyaniline (PANI) is distinguished among conducting polymers for its high chemical stability, easy polymerization and low cost. The objective of this work is to develop a freestanding polyaniline film, using camphor-10-sulphonic acid (CSA) as a primary dopant and 4-chloro-3-methyl phenol (CMC) as a secondary dopant in the presence of solvent for mixture of the solution, as well as develop a membrane using a conventional polymer (high impact polystyrene-HIPS) and conducting polymer (Polyaniline-PANI) doped with CSA for use in electrodialysis. Were performed tests of electrodialysis to determine the transport of ions Ni
+2. The membrane and film were characterized by electric conductivity SEM, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy and TGA. The results point to the possibility of application of the selective membrane for electrodialysis. The extraction of nickel for the synthesized membrane was similar to the commercial membrane. The freestanding film despite exhibiting good mechanical strength in solid state showed unsatisfactory when placed under water with the working solution to electrodialysis, due to its brittle state.

As he tells us, the physical or chemical characteristics of each type of resin vary according to the type or types of monomers that gave rise to it. Each plastic combines a combination of properties that make it more suitable than any other plastic to a particular purpose. There may be several types of classifications for the polymers, for example: Thermoplastic polymers; Thermosetting or thermosetting polymers; Elastomers (rubbers). This work analyzes samples and seeks to characterize them according to their type. This material was detailed by Traction test, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Shore D Hardness, differential scanning calorimetric analysis (DSC), and thermogravimetric (TGA). The analyzes allow to conclude the type of material and the tests performed, both in the microstructural analysis and in the hardness analysis with a mean value in the shore D scale of 50.22HS, show the characteristics of the studied material as being acrylic resin.
