Estudo da aplicação de bagaço de malte como adsorvente para remoção de óleo lubrificante em meio aquoso / Study of the application of brewers’ spent grains as an adsorbent for the removal of lubricating oil in an aqueous medium

A p… Show more

“…After that point, the concentration of sugars in the solution began to increase dramatically. As the amount of adsorbent in the column is higher, and the flow rate is low (1 mL min −1 ), sugars interacted more strongly with the material and occupied active spaces on the material surface 59 . As the liquid passed through the column more slowly than when a smaller amount of adsorbent was used, the sugars were displaced by the FA, giving rise to a detoxified hydrolysate.…”

“…These materials have chemical and structural properties that may favor the removal of highly toxic organic components. 35,36 Silica-based adsorbents are widely used for cleaning aqueous solutions in solid-phase extraction. 37 Silica modified with octadecyl groups improves the material's polarity in the extraction and separation of polar components.…”
