Estudo da aplicação de bagaço de malte como adsorvente para remoção de óleo lubrificante em meio aquoso / Study of the application of brewers’ spent grains as an adsorbent for the removal of lubricating oil in an aqueous medium

Abstract

Os compostos presentes na composição dos óleos lubrificantes para motores, como químicos e metais pesados, são prejudiciais ao meio ambiente. O efluente contaminado com óleo para motor é decorrente de locais como postos de combustível, oficinas mecânicas e estacionamento, que acabam por eliminar esses resíduos em corpos d'agua sem nenhum tipo de tratamento. Assim se faz necessário o desenvolvimento de tecnologias e técnicas capazes de tratar esses efluentes antes que sejam descartados ao ambiente aquático. A partir disso, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi estudar a aplicação do bagaço de malte na adsorção de óleo lubrificante em meio aquoso. As amostras foram previamente preparadas e secas em estufa. Na sequência, dois ensaios foram realizados, onde variou-se a granulometria do bagaço de malte seco, e foi determinado as melhores condições para o processo de adsorção. Após a adsorção, o adsorvente foi filtrado e seco em estufa e o teor de lipídeos para os ensaios foi determinado pelo método de Goldfish e a capacidade de adsorção foi obtida. Os ensaios apresentaram capacidade de adsorção variando entre 0,64 e 0,79 g óleo.g adsorvente -1 . Esses resultados mostram que o bagaço de malte pode ser utilizado como material adsorvente para a retirada desses resíduos de corpo d'agua contaminados.Palavras-chave: Hordeum vulgare L.,adsorção, óleo mineral, tratamento de resíduos.
