Establishment of Database of Color Matching System for Supercritical CO2 Dyeing

Abstract: Database of color matching system for supercritical CO2 dyeing was established and its accuracy was verified. The K/S value curves of each of the trichromatic disperse dyes (C.I. Disperse Orange 30, C.I. Disperse Red 167 and C.I. Disperse Blue 79) were parallel, which indicated that the samples suits for building database of color matching system. The color matching system was emended with calibration coefficients that were derived from data of several samples dyed with a mixtures of disperse dyes in supercrit… Show more

“…Finally, the most recent dyeing tests on a pilot plant were published by Huang and co‐workers from Wuyi University (China), who reported some experiments of scCO 2 PET dyeing that were performed in a pilot plant with a 24 l dyeing autoclave, but they did not specify the maximum amount of yarn that could be treated .…”

“…The consequence of the above discussion is that the existing water dyeing colour matching systems cannot be extended to SFD . Huang and co‐workers have recently reported a new database of colour matching system for scCO 2 dyeing at 250 bar and 120 °C. The authors selected a trichromatic colour system that is commonly used in the conventional aqueous process.…”

“…Here, after examining the current literature, industrial applications and the recommendations made by DyeCoo Textile Systems in detail, it was determined that a dyeing temperature of 120°C, 25 MPa dyeing pressure, density of 506 kg/m 3 and 90-minute dyeing time are generally accepted and applied as standard polyester scCO 2 dyeing conditions. 27,[39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46] Therefore, dyeing in scCO 2 media under these conditions was determined to be the standard (control reference) sample used for comparisons. For example, in ΔE determination, fabric dyed in scCO 2 media at 120°C, 25 MPa pressure and 506 kg/m 3 density for 90 minutes) was accepted as the standard dyed fabric and ΔE values of fabrics dyed under different conditions were calculated according to this standard fabric and are presented as such.…”
