“…For a deep evaluation of antioxidant capacity of Squalene vegetable fractions and their nanostructured formulations, the TEAC decolorization assay based on the radical scavenging capacity of antioxidants against the ABTS •+ has been used. This assay is an excellent tool for the determination of the antioxidant activity of hydrogen-donating antioxidants and of chain-breaking antioxidants (Shao et al, 2014). The efficacy of lipid nanocarriers co-encapsulating various amount of Pm and Hes to scavenge ABTS •+ is shown in Fig.…”

“…It might be that the essential oils have a function of antioxidant in laboratory studies (Suhail et al, 2015;Bi et al, 2016). It is reported that that the active ingredients of essential oils from Anoectochilus roxburghii can eliminate free radicals including 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical 2,2-Diphenyl-1-(2,4,6-trinitropheny l) hydrazyl (DPPH); 2, 2'-Azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS) and the superoxide anion (O2-) (Shao et al, 2014). The THY and ORE groups had more positive results than the CAR group in the prevention of oxidation reactions.…”

“…An alternative method to the conventional techniques is the supercritical extraction, which uses supercritical fluids as solvents (Pereira et al, 2004;Shao et al, 2014;Machado et al, 2013). The extraction with supercritical fluid consists in the transference of mass based on the use of fluids to temperatures and pressure above the critical values.…”
