Essential oil composition ofAnthemis triumfetti (L.) DC.

Abstract: The essential oil of the aerial parts of Anthemis triumfetti (Asteraceae), obtained by hydrodistillation, was analysed by GC and GC-MS; 64 compounds were identified, representing 98.3% of the oil. The major constituents were β β β β β-pinene (16.9%), camphor (15.0%), α α α α α-pinene (14.4%) and 1,8-cineole (5.8%).

“…Sinjajevina (tri 4 ), differed from others regarding the main constituents: cischrysanthenol (27.0%) and 1,8-cineole (8.4%). Previously, we have reported the essential-oil composition of A. triumfetti of the same origin as in the case of sample tri 1 , but from a different year of collection [12]. The qualitative composition of the oil was very similar to those of samples tri 1 , tri 2 , and tri 3 analyzed in this study, with b-pinene, camphor, and a-pinene being the most dominant constituents.…”

“…Whereas borneol (5.5%) was detected as the major constituent in our study with A. coelopoda var. coelopoda, this compound was not determined in the essential oils of A. hyalina [30] and A. triumfetti [31]. Saroglou et al (2006), reported that the volatile composition of eight Anthemis species.…”
