This research was conducted to determine the molecular structure modeling and the quantitative relationship of the activity structure (QSAR) of substituted myristicin derivatives with electron donor groups such as -C6H5 (M1), -NH2 (M2), -Cl (M3), -F (M4), and -H (M5). The results of geometry optimization with the DFT (Density Fractal Theory) method or density functional calculations calculated with the density level of B3LYP/6-31G each obtained the total energy of each compound M1- M5: M1: 175.49 kcal/mol M2: 132.707 kcal/mol, M3: 115.701 kcal/mol, M4: 116.048 kcal/mol, M5: 121.377 kcal/mol. Determining the relationship between descriptors and the antioxidant activity (IC50) for basic structure myristicin compounds and five derivatives was carried out using SPSS 21. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there was a relationship between the descriptors and antioxidant activity. Determining the best QSAR equation model is done by analyzing multiple linear and multilinear regression using IBM SPSS 21. The results of multiple linear regression analysis or multilinear regression obtained for the best QSAR equation model are: Log P = -2.600 + (0.006) IW- (1.558) qC8 - (6.532) EHOMO + (0.014) PSA + (0.133) MD with n = 6, R = 1.000, R2 = 0.926, SE = 0.

Emulgel merupakan sediaan topikal yang terdiri dari emulsi dan gelling agent. Minyak biji pala mengandung beberapa senyawa yaitu metil eugenol, isoeugenol, miristisin, ?-pinene, dan ?-pinene yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk memformulasikan emulgel minyak biji pala yang stabil secara fisik dan mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang optimal. Sediaan emulgel dibuat 3 formula yaitu FI (minyak biji pala 3%), FII (minyak biji pala 4,5%), FIII (minyak biji pala 6%). Evaluasi sediaan emulgel yang dilakukan yaitu uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji tipe emulsi, uji pH, uji viskositas, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, cycling test, dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan menggunakan DPPH. Dari hasil evaluasi didapatkan formula terbaik yaitu formula II dengan kandungan minyak biji pala 4,5% yang stabil secara fisik dan mempunyai IC50 11774,19 ppm.

The white adipose tissue (WAT) browning process has become one of the promising methods for managing obesity. During this process, WAT is transformed into brown-like adipose tissue, which is also known as beige adipose tissue. The browning process can be activated by several inducers. One of the best candidates is peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) agonist. Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) is a natural PPARα/γ partial agonist that is known to contribute to the browning effect. This study aimed to explore the potential effect of nutmeg seed extract (NuSE) on body weight reduction and uncoupling protein (UCP)1, UCP2, UCP3, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1 PGC-1α levels in aging rats. Eight male Wistar rats (80 weeks old) were divided into control and treatment groups. Both groups were fed a standard diet, and the treatment group was given 8.1 mg/kg body weight/day of NuSE via oral gavage for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, the levels of UCP1, UCP2, UCP3, and PGC-1α from both inguinal WAT (iWAT) and interscapular brown adipose tissue (BAT) were examined. We observed that the administration of NuSE has no significant effect to the decreasement of rats body weights (p = 0.464), levels of UCP1 (p = 0.686), UCP2 (p = 0.360), UCP3 (p = 0.076), and PGC-1α (p = 0.200).
