Brazil. Scholarship holder from Conselho Nacional deDesenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq).Objectives: accomplishment of the transcultural adaptation of the Parent-adolescent Communication Scale, which evaluates the frequency of communication between parents and children concerning the subjects related to sex, condom, DST, HIV and pregnancy. Method:Methodological research of quantitative approach, accomplished with 313 adolescent pupils of the feminine sex in the 14 to 18 year age group in Fortaleza-CE. The content validity was carried through by means of the initial translation, back translation, pre-final version and final version, being analyzed by a committee of specialists; the reliability was verified by the Cronbach's Alpha and ascertained by testing the hypotheses and test-retest within five weeks.The scale was applied via computer in the online modality in the period November/2010 to January/2011. Results: The version of the instrument in Portuguese presented an Alpha of 0.86 regarding the validity of the structure, was partially verified since the testing of the hypotheses of the contracted group was not confirmed. Conclusion: The version of the instrument adapted for Portuguese is considered valid and reliable in the study sample. Rev. Latino-Am. Enfermagem 2013 July-Aug.;21(4):851-9. IntroductionAs for the feminine gender, since the emergence of the first AIDS cases in the worldwide epidemiologist scenario, the prevention of the HIV transmission among women has been one of the biggest challenges in the control of the disease. This and other questions cause the prominence of the vulnerability of the woman, specifically of the adolescent in relation to the infections through sexually transmissible diseases (STD), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and pregnancy, which reecho negatively in the life quality of his group (1) .From the relations that surround the adolescent, the family where that adolescent is inserted plays a basic role in the way how the adolescent grows up, including how that adolescent will interrelate with the future sexual partners. Thus, the family unit has, throughout the years, suffered transformations, mainly in the way of transmitting values on subjects connected to STD/HIV (2) .For the nursing, the family health has become focus of the care in the scope of the work process in health, and this implies the necessity to elaborate educational and care technologies that facilitate this relation, either by means of visits at home, in the school environment, or even during the nursing consultation. A autoeficácia no uso de preservativos está relacionada à saúde, principalmente na prevenção de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis. Objetivou-se adaptar a Escala de Autoeficácia no Uso de Preservativos para o contexto brasileiro. Para isso, foram realizados dois estudos a partir de um questionário online. O Estudo 1 contou com 332 participantes da população geral, a maioria mulheres (63,6%), com média de idade de 25,2 anos (DP = 7,4). A análise fatorial exploratória identificou quatro fatores: Habilidade, Assertividade, Prazer e Drogas e Doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, explicando 66,8% da variância. O Estudo 2 contou com 907 participantes, com média de idade de 23,6 anos (DP = 6,1). A análise fatorial confirmatória apresentou os seguintes indicadores de ajuste: GFI = 0,93; CFI = 0,91; RMSEA = 0,08 (IC90% = 0,07-0,09). Os resultados comprovam a adequação da medida, reunindo evidências de validade. Discute-se a importância desta medida em pesquisas na área de saúde.

RESUMOO objetivo do estudo é descrever o processo de adaptação e validação da escala Partner Communication Scale-PCS com adolescentes do sexo feminino em Fortaleza, CE. Pesquisa metodológica, de abordagem quantitativa, realizada com 313 adolescentes, entre 14 a 18 anos, que já haviam tido o primeiro intercurso sexual. O processo de adaptação transcultural seguiu as etapas: tradução, retrotradução, avaliação das traduções por um comitê de juízes e teste da versão pré-final. A escala foi aplicada com um questionário sociodemográfico e de variáveis sexuais e reprodutivas, via computador, em novembro/2010 a janeiro/2011. A confiabilidade foi verificada por meio do teste alfa de Cronbach (0.86) e demonstrou que pode ser aplicada no cenário da atenção primá-ria à saúde, durante as consultas de enfermagem ao adolescente, e que permite identificar fatores que dificultam/facilitam a comunicação, principalmente em relação às DST/HIV. A escala mostrou-se adequada para verificar a comunicação entre os parceiros sexuais na adolescência. DESCRITORES ABSTRACTThis study aimed to describe the process of adaptation and validation of the Partner Communication Scale with female adolescents in Fortaleza, CE, Brazil. This methodological research, with a quantitative approach, was conducted with 313 adolescent, aged 14-18 years who had already lost their virginity. The transcultural adaptation process was performed by using translation, back translation, evaluation of the translations by a committee of judges, and testing of the final-draft version. The scale was administered with a sociodemographic questionnaire including sexual and reproductive variables, from November 2010 to January 2011. The reliability was assessed by the Cronbach's alpha (0.86), which demonstrated that it can be successfully applied in the setting of primary health care, during nurse consultations. Moreover, the scale allows for the identification of factors that hinder or facilitate communication, especially concerning sexually transmitted diseases. The scale is an adequate way to verify communication between sexual partners in adolescence.
