“…Details on the model selection are available in the Supplementary materials (Section A). Post-hoc analyses were performed for significant interactions using the testInteractions function of the phia package (De Rosario-Martinez et al, 2015). The package ggplot2 (Wickham, 2011) was used for data visualization.…”

“…The same model was used to analyse accuracy, confusion and reaction times data, except that a logistic regression (generalized linear mixed-effects models, 'glmer') was used for accuracy and a linear regression (linear mixed-effects models, 'lmer') for specific pairs of species confusion (four models in total) and for reaction times. Then, we used specific contrasts computed using the 'phia' package (62) to compare between-species categorization, testing our hypothesis of an impact of phylogenetic proximity on species categorization. Contrasts therefore included human vs. non-human primate planned comparisons: [human > chimpanzee, bonobo, macaque vocalizations], [human > chimpanzee vocalizations], [human > bonobo vocalizations], [human > macaque vocalizations]; non-human primate vs. human comparisons: [chimpanzee > human vocalizations], [bonobo > human vocalizations], [macaque > human vocalizations].…”
