Erratum to: Sequence of a 4.8 kb fragment of Saccharomyces cerevisiae chromosome II including three essential open reading frames

Abstract: The above paper (Yeast 9 289-293, 1993) erroneously presented a non-updated sequence due to datatransmission errors. The corrected sequence is 4939 bp in length and has been deposited in the EMBL Data Library under the accession number X71329. Consequently the amino acid sequences of YBR12.03 and YBR12.05 changed.Corrected Figure 3. Corrected amino acid sequences and sequence comparisons of the putative proteins encoded by YBR12.03 (244 aa) and YBR12.05 (385 aa). The comparisons were made using the program GAP… Show more

“…In contrast, Cns1 is essential at all temperatures (2). Moreover, the lethality caused by the cns1⌬ mutation cannot be suppressed by overexpression of other TPR-containing proteins, including Cpr6, Cpr7, or Sti1.…”

“…A physical interaction between Cns1 und Hsp90 was shown by immunoprecipitation (23). Cns1 is a protein of 385 amino acids, resulting in a molecular mass of 44.1 kDa (24). The threedimensional structure of Cns1 is still unknown.…”

“…The RIB1 protein sequence from P. guilliermondii shows a remarkable degree of homology to a putative GTP-cyclohydrolase from S. cerevisiae (Doignon et a]., 1993;Baur et al, 1993), with 60% identical amino acids and more than 70% overall homology over the entire length of the protein.…”

“…GTP-cyclohydrolase ( R I B I ) catalyses the initial and rate-limiting step of riboflavin synthesis and is subject to multiple metabolic controls. Properties of GTP-cyclohydrolases I1 of Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis were thoroughly studied and structural genes coding for these proteins were cloned and sequenced (Foor and Brown, 1975;Mironov et al, 1989;Boretskii et al, 1991Boretskii et al, , 1992Richter et al, 1993). The yeast Pichia guilliermondii is of great industrial interest because of its high capacity to synthesize riboflavin.…”
