In One-of-a-Kind Production (OKP), a large number of customised product designs and CAD models are produced in order to satisfy a wide variety of customer requirements (CRs). This situation inevitably results in data redundancy when representing product families. Aiming to solve this issue, in this paper, a structured product model, the modularized generic product model (MGPM), is proposed to reduce data redundancy in OKP product family modeling. A function mapping method is proposed to assign functions/subfunctions to their corresponding items in the MGPM which is capable of supporting the conceptual design stage in New Product Development (NPD). Besides, functions allocated to CAD models form the indexes for these models, which improve the efficiency of case retrieval. Finally, to demonstrate the proposed product modeling approach, a case study is carried out on fruit chute products.

Resumo: O objetivo deste artigo foi descrever de que forma a implantação e utilização de um Sistema de Gerenciamento de Armazéns (SGA) pode contribuir para o aumento da produtividade, redução de erros e aceleração no fluxo das informações em um centro de distribuição. O método de pesquisa foi o estudo de caso. Foi escolhida uma empresa distribuidora de mercadorias, localizada no Vale do Rio dos Sinos, que vende e distribui para empresas de todo o Brasil produtos de uso corporativo. A principal técnica de pesquisa foi a observação participante. Ao fim, para evidenciar os resultados observados, foram coletados dois indicadores, a produtividade e os erros de separação de itens em pedidos. Após quatro meses de observação, ambos apresentaram expressiva melhoria, reforçando a hipótese de que a escolha e a implantação do sistema de gerenciamento foram benéficas para a empresa. Abstract:The aim of this article was to describe how the deployment and use of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) can help increase productivity, reduce errors and speed up the flow of information in a distribution center. The research method was the case study. We had chosen a distributor of goods, located in Vale do Rio dos Sinos, RS, which sells and distributes for companies throughout Brazil products for business use. The main research technique was participant observation. In order to highlight the observed results, we collected two indicators, productivity and errors for the separation of items into applications. After four months of observation, both showed significant improvement, strengthening the hypothesis that selection and implementation of management system was beneficial for the company.

Abstract. As the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite completes more than a decade of operation, it has provided researchers throughout the world with a large volume of rainfall data. The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, it plays an important role in the regional water cycle, energy balance and ecosystems. In this paper, we use different rainfall accuracy estimation indexes to estimate the precision of precipitation data gained from TRMM satellite in the Yangtze River basin according to the gauge rain data. The results indicate that: 1) 3B42 V7 has a good precision in application to the Yangtze River basin. 3B42 RTV7 can also capture the spatial distribution of annual precipitation. 2) TMPA products have a higher estimate precision in the mid-lower Yangtze reaches compared to the upper Yangtze reaches. 3) Both 3B42 RTV7 and 3B42 V7 apply better in the flood period than the low water period.
