“…I n advanced diabetic nephropathy elevated glucoproteins have been found (1,3,14,25,36). As regards the level of protein-bound carbohydrates in patients with retinal microaneurysms (to which stage of angiopathy most of our patients belong) some authors have found increased values (2,10,12,18,24), but others glucoproteins as in uncomplicated diabetes (8,13,17,22).
