Eriodictyol Inhibits Proliferation, Metastasis and Induces Apoptosis of Glioma Cells via PI3K/Akt/NF-κB Signaling Pathway

Abstract: Glioma is the most common type of malignant brain tumor. Due to its highly aggressive and metastatic features, glioma is associated with poor prognosis and a lack of effective treatments. Eriodictyol, a natural flavonoid compound, has been reported to possess antiinflammatory and antioxidant effects. However, the anti-tumor effects of eriodictyol and the underlying mechanisms have rarely been reported. In this study, we found that eriodictyol has anti-tumor activity in lung, colon, breast, pancreas, and liver … Show more

“…To confirm whether circ‐PRMT5 exerts its effects in breast cancer via the miR‐509‐3p/TCF7L2 axis and the PI3K/AKT pathway, we performed the subsequent rescue assays. 740 Y‐P, a well‐known activator of the PI3K/AKT pathway, was used at a concentration of 20 μg/mL 20,21 . As shown in Figure 6A,B, breast cancer cell viability and proliferation capacity were inhibited by down‐regulated circ‐PRMT5 but restored after overexpressing pcDNA3.1/TCF7L2.…”

“…After 12 hours, various concentrations (0, 25, 50, 100 mmol/L) of eriodyctiol were added to each well, and cells were incubated for an additional 48 hours. Detailed procedures were performed as described in reference 22 …”
