Ergonomics in projects of oil platforms in a change context

Abstract: The context of oil platform design is changing in order to increase competitiveness and be prepared for difficult operations, mainly in fields more distant from the coast, like pre-salt. The currently preceding context is marked by projects guidelines designed to reduce projects and operation costs, including an important reducing in the number of people on board. The main objective of this research is to verify and discuss if the experience of use in platforms designed in a previous context, in which the peop… Show more

“…The architects found it interesting to have complete information about the actual work activities through the settings of usage, as well as several examples and explanations. Furthermore, Cordeiro et al [19] and Oggioni et al [36] simulated use of the guidelines during the detailed design of two new rig projects, indicating that their applicability is high. The designers participating in these two projects recognized the importance of meeting ergonomic and other technical requirements from other disciplines.…”

“…The context of the oil platform design is changing in order to increase competitiveness and be prepared for difficult operations [32]. First, it is important to point out that all the work can be considered collective, as it depends and influence others.…”
