“…[7] Another study showed that eradication of HP infection by triple therapy signiÞ cantly and equally reduces urticarial activity score in CU patients with positive and negative autologous serum test. [11] The discrepancy between results of these different studies may be due to the different [12] Once this occurs the production of IgE antibodies responsible for urticarial symptoms might continue even after eradication of HP. “…In contrast, studies have found that evidence for a reported benefit of H. pylori eradication was weak and conflicting, eradication therapy may itself trigger urticaria, and the stated benefits might have been from eradication of other undiagnosed/asymptomatic infections [15,16]. Various mechanisms have been speculated to explain the possible association of H. pylori with chronic urticaria [9][10][11][16][17][18]. H. pylori is suggested to increase the secretion of gastric acid and pepsin, which induces active inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract leading to the recruitment of neutrophils, eosinophils, and lymphocytes, which release a family of histamine-releasing factors that induce mast cell degranulation.…”
