Equilibrium configuration of self-gravitating charged dust clouds: Particle approach

Abstract: A three dimensional Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation is carried out to explore the equilibrium configurations of charged dust particles. These equilibrium configuration are of astrophysical significance for the conditions of molecular clouds and the interstellar medium. The interaction among the dust grains is modeled by Yukawa repulsion and gravitational attraction. The spherically symmetric equilibria are constructed which are characterized characterized by three parameters: (i) the number of particles in … Show more

“…2 2 2 The wave perturbations are incorporated in the linearized set of equations ( 9)-( 11) to obtain the perturbed form of dust number density which is further used to deduce the general dispersion relation as given in equation (16). The linearized perturbed dust number density is derived as follows.…”

“…Dusty plasma or complex plasma comprises of additional charged particles (termed as dust) in comparison to electron-ion plasma [1,2]. The interaction between the plasma and charged dust grains brings forth a whole new range of features that intrigues the researchers trying to develop applications of plasma physics [3,4].…”
