Due to deforestation in Gallery Forests, the current environmental law requires their restoration. Using only seminal propagation for native species of this environment has limited the production of seedlings as the seeds of some species often have limiting factors. Richeria grandis Vahl., besides being a characteristic species of this environment, has high value in phytosociological importance; however, it has recalcitrant seeds. In view of this, the objective was to evaluate the rooting of R. grandis Vahl. mini-cuttings under the influence of indolebutyric acid (IBA) concentrations. Apical mini-cuttings were prepared with length of 8 ± 2 cm and two pairs of leaves with their leaf area reduced by 50%. For rooting, a mixture of 70% vermiculite and 30% carbonized rice husk with fertilizer was used as substrate. As treatments, four IBA concentrations were tested: 0; 2,000; 4,000; and 6,000 mg L -1 , liquid in solution, for 10 seconds. The rooting of mini-cuttings was conducted in a greenhouse, for a period of 90 days. According to the results, this technique is feasible, since there was 100% survival and a high percentage of rooting, with the control treatment having the lowest value (85%). Calluses were found in non-rooted mini-cuttings and, using IBA, there was a tendency to increase the mean number of roots, sprouting percentage and mean sprouts per treatment.

Araucaria angustifolia Budding Techniques in Indoor and Outdoor Stablished Rootstocks

The objective of this work was to evaluate the technical feasibility of budding in A. angustifolia in two rootstocks establishment, performed in two seasons of the year. In October and April, patch and flute budding techniques were carried on rootstocks kept indoor (greenhouse) and established outdoor (field), with grafts of adult female plants. The percentage of survival, percentage of shoots and number of shoots up to 300 days after budding (DAB) were evaluated. The patch budding performed in October showed the greatest grafts survival rates (82%) and percentage of shoots in the grafts (64%) at 180 DAB. The flute budding showed highest number of shoots (2.7 at 120 DAB and 3.5 at 180 DAB) when compared to patch budding. The use of the patch budding is recommended in spring, not requiring a controlled environment for the rootstocks. After 180 DAB there were no losses of grafted plants.

Alguns trabalhos foram desenvolvidos com o intuito de se propagar o umezeiro por estaquia, porém os resultados não foram animadores. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar a viabilidade da propagação do umezeiro (Prunus mume sieb & Zucc), clone IAC-10, por alporquia. Ramos lenhosos de aproximadamente um ano de idade, localizados na parte mediana da copa, foram utilizados para a confecção dos alporques. Realizou um anel com aproximadamente dois centímetros de largura (suprimindo apenas a casca do ramo), pincelando-se com diferentes concentrações de IBA (0, 1000, 2000, 3000 e 4000 mg L-1), distribuídos em todo o anel com o auxílio de pincel. Os alporques foram envolvidos com esfagno umedecido, como substrato, cobertos e amarrados nas extremidades com plástico transparente. Após 90 dias da realização da alporquia, coletaram-se os seguintes dados biométricos: porcentagem de alporques vivos, enraizados, calejados e número médio de raízes por alporque. De acordo com os resultados obtidos, conclui-se que o umezeiro pode ser propagado por alporquia, devendo ser utilizado a concentração de 1000 mg L-1 de IBA, a fim de propiciar maior enraizamento e número de raízes por alporque.
