“…Several histologically unusual features of OS such as epitheliod 9,10 or small cell 11 subtypes and variable radiographic appearances 3 have been reported previously, which confirm the importance of meticulous evaluation of the patients with intraosseous lesions resembling OS; but a few cases with uncommon clinical presentation have been described and based on our knowledge the present case is the first reported OS with clinical presentation similar to “epulis fissurarum”. In other reported rare clinical or radiographic presentations of OS, Soares et al 2 reported a patient with OS erroneously diagnosed as a periapical lesion and this delay in accurate diagnosis led to death of the patient after about 2 years.…”

“…Although the immunophenotypic expression of epithelioid tumor cells is variable in previous literature review, [2][3][4][5][6][7][8] the epithelioid tumor cells of the study case were strongly positive for vimentin, and focal positivity for HMW-CK, EMA and S-100 protein, but negative for LCA, HMB45 and MDM2. The treatment of osteosarcoma is a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, but surgical excision was a mainstay of our treatment.…”
