Abstract-In this paper, we have discussed the sensor-based applications and what is necessary for the dissimilarities in hardware realization and algorithm. This paper presents the existing state-of-the-art of IEEE 1451 standard-based sensor applications and is mainly focused on standard transducer interface module (STIM), network capable application processor (NCAP), and transducer-independent interface (TII). They have some major factors that are regularly imperative in the development of IEEE 1451 standard-based applications, such as plug and play facility, for one or more than one STIM, communication protocols/network's, architecture, reliability, maintenance, accuracy, easy to use, cost, transducer electronic data sheet, test facility, and so on. The above concerns are also summarized by reference to research articles on STIM, NCAP, and TII. Highlighting is on the predictability of dynamic applications that concentrate on the above mentioned criteria.

Sadržaj -U radu je opisana implementacija servisnoorijentisane arhitekture u mreži pametnih senzora za pra enje parametara okoline. Web servisi su definisani pomo u Web Service Description Language (WSDL) jezika, a zatim implementirani na ARM mikrokontroleru koji je povezan sa Internetom. Dato rešenje predstavlja unapre enu realizaciju Smart Transducer Web Services (STWS) koncepta ije tipi no izvo enje zahteva koriš enje ra unara opšte namene. Za potrebe testiranja, razvijena je klijentska aplikacija i demonstrirana je komunikacija sa serverom, pri emu su prikazani rezultati merenja senzora. Opisani servisi se mogu koristiti u razvoju distribuiranih senzorskih aplikacija za efikasan pristup fizi kim ure ajima prema IEEE 1451.0 standardu.

The design of a Smart Transducer Interface Module is developed for temperature sensing, complying with the IEEE 1451.2 standard. The standard IEEE1451.2 can be a helpful tool to design smart temperature sensor compatible with the possibility to use different sensors technologies without major redesigning efforts. The design provides a generic solution to make uniform temperature sensors, instead of a proprietary solution for various applications. In this work a solution for the development of electronic smart temperature senor including design of hardware and software is presented based on this standard, which STIM is composed of the chips of AT89C51 and digital sensor DS18B20, and the flow chart of program and TEDS are studied. The design is simulated by Proteus. The further work for STIM communicating with NCAP need be done.
