Environ-Economic Synthesis and Characterization of Some New 1,2,4-Triazole Derivatives as Organic Fluorescent Materials and Potent Fungicidal Agents

Abstract: A multicomponent one-pot clean cyclocondensation reaction of 4-chloro-2-nitro aniline/amino acids and aromatic aldehydes/ indole-2,3-diones with thiosemicarbazide in water yielding triazole/spiro indole-triazole derivatives in high yields and shorter reaction time and displaying excellent florescent property is reported. The developed MCR may provide a valuable practical tool for the synthesis of new drugs containing the title core fragment. All the newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by IR, 1 … Show more

“…After the successful completion of reaction in water in the presence of POCl 3 , we decided to synthesize Schiff bases by employing lemon juice (2 mL) as green catalyst for green approach (Scheme 1) resulting in quantitative yield (70-86%) of the corresponding Schiff bases within 2 to 3 hrs. However, in the absence of lemon juice, spiro(indole-triazoles) are formed [43]. We have also carried out this reaction in the presence of citric acid but the yield of the product (4) was found to be low (60-70%) as compared to that carried out using lemon juice as a green catalyst (70-86%).…”

“…The condensation of 3-acetyl pyridine with various amino acids/cysteine amino acid yielded 2-{[1-(pyridin-3-yl)ethylidene]amino}propanoic acid (3) /ethyl 2-{[1-(pyridin-3-yl)ethylidene]amino}-3-sulfanylpropanoate (7) which “insitu” were cyclocondensed with thiosemicarbazide (4) in the presence of alum in aqueous medium to give exclusively 5a–i/9a , respectively, in 86–90% ( Scheme 1 ) ( Table 1 ). We have recently reported [ 33 ] the environ-economic synthesis of some new 1,2,4-triazole derivatives by the reaction of 4-chloro-2-nitro aniline and aromatic aldehydes with thiosemicarbazide in high yields and shorter reaction time in the presence of lemon juice as a green catalyst.…”

“…In order to complete these needs, chemical reactions are proceeds in solvent-free, water as a solvent, ionic liquids, bio-based chemicals and supercritical fluids as green solvents. The increasing interest to employ fruit juice in biocatalysts and in the synthesis of heterocyclic was achieved [31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38]. Recently, more attention has been attracted on targeting anticancer drugs disrupting tumor-specific cell signaling, cell division, energy metabolism, gene expression, drug resistance and so on.…”
