Entfremdung von der Praxis?

Abstract

Professional Training and professionalisation of social workers are nowadays discussed in a critical perspective. The tendencies of discussions in the last two decades are criticised by the heading .^Alienation from the field of social work." The essay describes the causes and interests of this development as well as current trends of the discussion about professionalisation. Theoretical assumptions are confronted with recent trends of social work in practice. More attention must be given to the internal structure of institutions in the field of social work.
