Ukraine is historically known as the "breadbasket of Europe and the world" due to its significant agricultural production. The issue of food insecurity in the world, caused by the russian federation as a result of the full-scale aggression against Ukraine, launched on February 24, 2022, has become a critical concern in the international stage. An environmental crisis with far-reaching repercussions for the country’s agricultural sector, together with the blocking of Ukrainian logistics lead to an increase in prices for agricultural products, as well as an increase in the risk of famine in countries dependent on Ukrainian agricultural exports. The aim of the research is to define the norms of international law regarding global food security and trade in agricultural products, which have been violated by russia in order to develop a mechanism of responsibility for these violations and compensation for the damage caused. The methods of legal analysis, historical legal and systemic analysis are applied. Analysing the repercussions of the russian federation’s actions for global food security, the article examines various relevant international legal frameworks and instruments aimed at safeguarding food security and ensuring access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious sustenance for all. By assessing the impact of the russian invasion on logistics routes, trade networks, and distribution mechanisms, this article elucidates the far-reaching implications for the timely and efficient delivery of agrarian goods to international markets. Additionally, the study highlights the role of international agreements in addressing the challenges associated with disrupted logistics in the agricultural sector. This article examines the scale of environmental damage and losses inflicted on Ukraine’s agrarian landscape and scrutinizes these impacts through the prism of international legal principles.

Food security is one of the most pressing issues of the present because of a number of local and global problems. The war in Ukraine, world hunger, climate change and the deterioration of food quality are all factors that negatively affect the current state of global and local food security. It is therefore important to develop effective ways of ensuring food security. The purpose of this research was to identify the main contemporary directions for ensuring food security. The research was conducted on the basis of modern scientific research, journalistic materials, legislative and regulatory acts dedicated to food security issues. The main research methods included analysis, synthesis and generalisation of the obtained information. Initially, the research analysed the characteristics of such directions of ensuring food security as national plans, strategies and projects. It was found out that Ukraine does not have a proper legal regulation of food security, there are no projects and programmes developed by the state; the food security strategy has been created, but it also needs to be improved. The peculiarities of the state policy of Japan and the United States in the field of food security are analysed. The characteristics of such a policy, such as the creation of an effective stock management system, which is defined as one of the components of the state food security index, are examined. On the basis of the analysis of theoretical sources the main directions of creation of the stock management system are determined. The current problems of the stock management system in Ukraine will be examined. To clarify the characteristics of modern international cooperation in the field of food security. The role of FAO in ensuring food security is defined. The peculiarities of international cooperation in the EU in this area are outlined and the features of international cooperation in the context of Ukraine are determined. It is established that programmes, strategies and projects define the priority directions of state policy, and their practical implementation is the most important stage. In this connection, it is emphasised that all states should direct their policies towards solving all existing problems related to food security, which in turn will contribute to ensuring food security at the national and global levels. The results obtained point to the need to refine existing approaches to ensuring food security.

Purpose. To define the principles for the formation of an effective institute of bankruptcy in the context of the economic security of business, to substantiate the model of the state's participation in the institutional design of bankruptcy in Ukraine. Methods. The analysis of the bankruptcy institute in the context of ensuring the economic security of the business is based on the institutional approach, methods of analysis, synthesis, and generalization. The substantiation of the model of the state's participation in the institutional design of bankruptcy in Ukraine was carried out on the basis of a comparative analysis of the bankruptcy institute in Ukraine and models of the bankruptcy institute in the USA, Germany and France. Results. Attention is focused on the priority importance of institutional changes in forming and developing bankruptcy legislation in the context of ensuring the economic security of business entities. Based on the results of the research, the principles of effective bankruptcy legislation are formulated: the goals and mechanisms for implementing insolvency legislation should be coordinated by the institutional environment formed in society; an important factor in the effectiveness of the bankruptcy institute is the balance of stakeholders' interests. Based on a comparative analysis of the bankruptcy institute in Ukraine and the formed models of the institute of bankruptcy in the United States, Germany and France, it has been proved that in the countries of catching-up development, which include Ukraine, there is no mechanism for automatically balancing the interests of stakeholders in carrying out the bankruptcy procedure. This necessitates the participation of the state in the institutional design of bankruptcy. It is substantiated that the model of the bankruptcy institute in Germany is the most appropriate for being implemented in Ukraine since it does not block the development of market institutes. Scientific novelty. There are proposed criteria for the effectiveness of the bankruptcy institute in the context of ensuring the economic security of business based on comparing the standards for ensuring the balance of stakeholders' interests in following the bankruptcy procedure and the institutional environment established in society. Practical significance. The results of the study form a theoretical basis for improving bankruptcy legislation and mechanisms for its enforcement from the standpoint of ensuring the economic security of business entities.
