“…The EDS of the particles showed the Cr, Ti, and Nb as major elements which confirmed the possible phase of M 23 C 6 , NbC, and Ti(C, N). Kumar et al [ 71 ] have also observed the poor impact toughness of ERNiCr-3 filler weld for dissimilar metal weld of T91 and SS304H and NbC and TiC in weld metal were considered as the possible cause of poor impact toughness.…”

“…In high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, the superheater section is made of 800H alloy while the evaporator section is made of low-alloy ferritic steel, and there are DMWs between them. In addition, DMWs are also widely used in welding rotors [ 6 ], reheaters [ 7 ], steam tubes [ 8 ], and other high-temperature applications [ 9 ] in power plants. For the above DMWs, the austenitic steel or nickel-based alloy side is generally reliable, and DMW service life is mainly affected by the ferritic steel side with relatively poor performance [ 10 ].…”

“…However, the higher hot cracking tendency of the Inconel 82 filler was reported by Naffakh et al 24 in their study on evaluating the hot cracking tendency of the different filler metals for dissimilar material weld of Inconel 657 and AISI 310 ASS. To enhance the mechanical properties of the T91 and Super304H dissimilar weldments, a modified heat treatment procedure referred to as post-weld normalizing tempering (PWNT) has been proposed by Kumar et al 25 The welded joint was produced using the GTAW process with ERNiCr-3 filler. Significant enhanced mechanical properties were obtained after PWNT; however, ERNiCr-3 filler weld microstructure remains unaffected.…”
