The physical, chemical and electrical prosperities of MO is matched as an insulating material for transformer. Therefore, it can be used in transformers. Whereas, the MO is extracted from the fossil fuels. Due to vast consumption of fossil fuels, the accessibility of vestige fuel is going to run out near future. In addition, the MO (MO) is doesn’t meet the new environmental regulation due to it has less biodegradable. Therefore, this research proposed a new ecological friendly insulating oil for transformer which is renewable that of petroleum based insulating oil such as MO. Initially, a critical review has been made on recent development on alternate liquid dielectrics for transformer. Subsequently, critical characteristics of insulating oil have been measured according to the standard. Added to that, the critical characteristics of Natural Ester Oil (NEO) are estimated at diverse temperatures from 50°C, 70°C, 90°C, 110°C, 130°C, and 150°C respectively.

<span lang="EN-US">Recently, natural ester insulation (NEI) oils are found to be the best candidates to replace mineral-based insulation oils for oil-immersed transformer applications. However, NEI oils are prone to oxidation due to their poor oxidative stability which can be improved by adding antioxidants into the oils. Latest studies have also shown that the use of selected antioxidants improves the AC breakdown voltage (BdV) of NEI oils. However, the experiments in previous studies were designed using the conventional one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method, which requires a large number of samples to be tested in order to determine the optimum response. Thus, a Taguchi-based designed experiment is introduced in this study in replacement of the OFAT method. It is found that this method is capable of determining the optimum concentrations of propyl gallate (PG) and citric acid (CA) which will maximize the AC BdV and improve the oxidative stability of the NEI oil. An AC breakdown voltage test is conducted in accordance with the ASTM D1816 standard using Megger OTS60PB portable oil tester, in which the electrode gap distance is kept fixed at 1 mm. The results indicate that the addition of PG and CA antioxidants increases the AC BdV of the rapeseed-based NEI oil. It is found that the optimum concentrations of PG and CA antioxidant is 0.05 and 0.25 wt.%, respectively. Lastly, the model developed in this study is analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Validation test is also conducted on the optimized NEI oil to determine its dielectric strength and oxidative stability.</span>

Transformer oil with a petroleum basis has long been used in transformers as insulation and cooling. The environmental concern of the current liquid insulating technique is how spent oil samples are disposed of after extensive use. Due to transformer oil's non-biodegradable composition, which can hurt and contaminate the environment, there is difficulty with disposal. A Nano Particle based Used Transformer Oil Processing Method (NP-UTOPM) is suggested in this research to reuse the used transformer oil in the battery. This work examines the effects of activated bentonite and carbon absorbents in recovering the qualities of used transformer oil by investigating the re-usage features of used transformer oil samples after reclamation treatment. 50ml of used transformer oil is utilized for the reclaiming process, along with separate mixtures of 1%, 3%, and 5%Nano Particles (NP) and blended combinations of two absorbents. According to international regulations, oil sample characteristics such as breakdown voltage, viscosity, dielectric dissipation factor, electrical conductivity, density, specific resistance, surface tension, and temperature properties are tested before and after restoration. The sample of recycled oil is used again as a liquid insulator in batteries.
