Enhanced optical, morphological, dielectric, and conductivity properties of gold nanoparticles doped with PVA/CMC blend as an application in organoelectronic devices

Abstract: Stevia rebaudiana plant leaves were used for biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Transmission electron microscope (TEM) images showed various shapes and sizes of AuNPs. Various amounts of AuNPs were added to polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethylcellulose (PVA/CMC, 40/60) via the casting method. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectrum of pure blend shows the amorphous nature of the blend. FT-IR spectra showed the interaction between PVA/CMC and AuNPs. The ultra-violet and visible (UV/VIS.) spectra showed emerge … Show more

“…This is an index for the formations of hydrogen bonds between ZnO and the pure PEO/CMC. The appearance of the variation of the intensity reveals the existence of interactions between ZnONRs and functional groups existing in components of polymeric blend [27]. The obtained results describe that there is an interactions between the PEO/CMC blend and ZnONRs.…”

“…The broad peak noticed at 3397 cm − 1 was assigned to O-H stretching [24,25], while the small peak at 2922 cm − 1 was attributed to CH 2 asymmetric stretching [25]. The peak at 1596 cm − 1 was due to the carbonyl (C = O) stretching of the protonated carboxylic acid group (-COOH) [25,27] The wavenumbers and bands assignments of the PEO, CMC and pure blend were reported in Table 1.…”

“…1 a. For paper coated with polymer matrix (the blend of CMC, PVA, ex-SCG and citric acid), the semi-crystalline structure of the CMC/PVA blend was found at 2θ of 19.70° (El-Gamal et al 2018 ; Atta et al 2021a , b ). The XRD pattern of paper coated with Fe 3 O 4 and 0.15%w/v Ag@Fe 3 O 4 are shown in Fig.…”

“…The presence of 0.5–1%w/w of citric acid in the coated paper could decrease the spoiling and rotting rates of beef. Among the biopolymers used to prepare food packaging, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) has been widely used owing to its biodegradability, non-toxicity and low cost (Atta et al 2021a , b ). CMC can be blended with a biocompatible polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to enhance the physical and mechanical properties (Siregar et al 2019 ).…”

“…Because of its hydrophilicity, chemical resilience, as well as electrical insulation characteristics, PVA is also widely employed in electronic equipment [18,19]. Moreover, PVA with hydroxyl groups possesses a carbon chain backbone that may be used as a hydrogen -bonded source in the production of filler composite materials [20]. This research aims to enhance the electrical conductivity, dielectric characteristics, as well as energy density ability of MnO 2 /PVA and ZnO/PVA flexi composite films to be used in the dielectric devices.…”
