Energy-Exergy Analysis of Diesel Engine Fueled with Microalgae Biodiesel-Diesel Blend

Abstract: Renewable energy is getting more attention in recent times due to the rapid depletion of fossil fuel reserves. Production and consumption of biofuels derived from biomass has significantly increased. In the present work, Spirulina microalgae have been chosen as feedstock for biodiesel production. Diesel and biodiesel were mixed in different volumetric ratios to prepare fuel blends (SBF0, SBF20, SBF40, SBF60, SBF80, and SBF100). Energy and exergy analysis has been performed on a four-stroke, single-cylinder die… Show more

“…For all models, in terms of pure error, the F value (the lack of fit) shows that it is not significant. The model fit is sufficient if there is no significant lack of fit [57]. All models should be utilized to explore the design space because the obtained signal-to-noise ratios (Adequate Precision) for the models are more than four [58].…”

“…In the calculations, the reference ambient temperature and pressure values were taken as T 0 = 298.15 K and P 0 = 100 kPa, respectively, and were assumed to remain the same throughout the experiment. In addition to the aforesaid assumptions, the reference environment was considered to be an ideal gas [52][53][54][55].…”

“…With the arbitrary mesh interface (AMI) boundary processing mechanism, programming wall barriers were broken, and the parallel ability was improved effectively; meanwhile, supercomputer resources were optimized reasonably. These technological innovations have made three-dimensional simulations of the whole aeroengine a reality [ 14 ].…”
