Energy-Efficient Clustering Multi-Hop Routing Protocol in a UWSN

Abstract: Underwater wireless sensor networks are currently seeing broad research in various applications for human benefits. Large numbers of sensor nodes are being deployed in rivers and oceans to monitor the underwater environment. In the paper, we propose an energy-efficient clustering multi-hop routing protocol (EECMR) which can balance the energy consumption of these nodes and increase their network lifetime. The network area is divided into layers with regard to the depth level. The data sensed by the nodes are t… Show more

“…Meanwhile, the ROBINA outperformed in these scenarios and covered both (water/node movement, frequently charged topology, dynamic and static sinks stations, acute communication, and water current, which is also unpredictable with dense to shallow water) using the rotation-based path and mechanism of inter-node adjustment. When a medium to the large-scale network was eliminated as a text-bed, the amount indicated by our technique was not debatable; [ 34 , 35 , 36 , 37 , 38 , 39 ] is a good example for this understanding.…”

“…This technique works well in terms of network prolonging, energy balancing, throughput, and transmission loss. • EECMR: Energy-Efficient Clustering Multi-hop Routing (EECMR) protocol [23] aims to balance energy consumption of the data transmitting nodes and prolong their life. In this approach, the network is divided into multiple layers concerning the depth level.…”

“…The significant problems related to the UWSN are high energy consumption and limited network life. A routing protocol with efficient but limited routing protocol steps may deal with the problems mentioned above [15]. To enhance the lifetime of the UWSN, it is essential that the processing at the sink node and the base station's data storage should be reduced.…”
