“…Using the formalism described above, we have calculated the kinetic energy of the long range alpha particle in the ternary fission of [238][239][240][241][242][243][244] Pu and is given in Table II. It is to be noted that the obtained results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data [19].…”

“…First of all, the alpha cluster must be preformed within the fissioning nucleus and secondly it must gain enough energy to overcome the Coulomb barrier of the scission nucleus. Serot and Wagemans [19] demonstrated that, the parameters like fissility parameter Z 2 /A, the alpha cluster preformation factor S α and fission modes also plays an important role in the emission probability of long range alpha particles.…”

“…Vermote et al [24] experimentally studied the emission probability and the energy distribution of alpha particles in the ternary fission of 244-248 Cm isotopes, but its mass distribution has not been studied so far. We have computed the emission probability of long range alpha particle emitted in the ternary fission of 242-248 Cm isotopes and are in good agreement with the experimental data [23,24]. 248 Cm and are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data.…”

“…So, it is expected that LRA-emission is favored when the nucleus fissions following the Standard II mode. In order to check this prediction, LRA-emission probabilities have been measured [27] for several Pu-isotopes. The choice of these isotopes (238,24o,242,244p u ( sf )) comes from the work of D ematt( s and Wagemans [28] who have demonstrated that these nuclei have identical properties (charge number, spin parity, zero excitation energy) except their fission mode components which strongly vary.…”
