Energy-aware resource service scheduling based on utility evaluation in cloud manufacturing system

Abstract: In order to realize the manufacturing resource sharing and optimal allocation, many advanced manufacturing modes and technologies have been proposed and researched, but few works have been emphasized on resource service and capability transaction and scheduling management. With these conditions, in this article, the concept of cloud manufacturing mode is first briefly introduced, and a general cloud manufacturing resource service scheduling model is established. Then, the comprehensive utility models, which co… Show more

“…For example, addressed the issue of allocating services to individualised requirement tasks in cloud manufacturing. Cheng et al (2013) investigated four types of resource service scheduling modes (i.e. provider-cantered, consumer-cantered, operator-cantered and system-cantered modes) and found that the system-cantered cooperative scheduling method can maximise overall utilities of the whole system and all users at the same time.…”

“…It they fail to reach their objectives or aspirations, they may withdraw from the system. Some research has already been carried out on this issue (Cheng et al 2013. However, they dealt with only the static scenario where requirements and resources are fixed, and the utility function of each party considered only limited metrics.…”

“…For this purpose, an optimization model was formulated and solved to minimize the unused capacity. Cheng et al 8 examined four resource service scheduling approaches in a framework that considered energy carrier consumption, cost and risk in cloud manufacturing systems. Tao et al 9 considered revenue, time and reliability as important aspects of service-oriented manufacturing systems and proposed a coordination method to increase resource utilization of the service transaction chains.…”
