Energen System for Power Supply of Passive House: Case Study

Abstract: This paper aims to present partial results of a large study regarding the alternative energen solutions (sun, wind, hydrogen) for power supply of passive house placed on ClujNapoca, Romania. Five scenarios for different combinations were optimized and analyzed of hybrid energy system. The best energy and environmental performances are achieved by hydrogen technology and fuel cell, also the use of hydrogen energy is more efficient and less expensive then primary renewable energy seasonal storage by batteries.

“…The algorithm behind the mono objective optimization ensures elitism by making use of an archive (secondary population), while the one behind the multi objective optimization relies on the principles of Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA). [82][83][84][85] In this analysis is opted for the multi-objective type optimization, and the criteria with minimization function by which it was achieved are the following: total system cost, carbon dioxide emissions, unmet load, excess energy and rated power/component equipment related to energy demand assurance.…”

“…If there is an excess of power generated from the PV and WT sources the electrolyser will produce hydrogen which will be stored for further consumption. In the case the energy generated from RES is not enough to supply the entire building the fuel cell will generate the required power using the already stored hydrogen [12,15,16].…”
