This research examines the influence of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions on the peristaltic flow via an inclined permeable channel. The current investigation emphasizes on modeling the flow of blood in narrow arteries by taking convective and wall properties into account. The Ree‐Eyring non‐Newtonian model is used to govern the fluid flow due to its significance in understanding the behavior of dilatant, pseudoplastic, and viscous liquids. The variation in variable viscosity and thermal conductivity is considered for analyzing the complex rheological behavior of blood. The similarity transformations are used in the process of nondimensionalization. The series solution procedure is adopted to solve the governing nonlinear differential equations. The expressions for velocity, temperature, concentration, and trapped bolus are obtained. The computational results are analyzed with the help of graphs for shear thickening, shear thinning, and Newtonian fluid models. One of the significant findings of the current model is that an introduction of variable liquid properties improves the temperature and velocity profiles for Newtonian and pseudoplastic fluid models. Compared with the other theoretical models developed, the rheological and flow properties of various biological fluids can be derived from the model used in the present investigation.

PurposeThe aim of the present paper is to investigate the homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions on Prandtl fluid flow at a stretching sheet with an induced magnetic field and slip boundary conditions.Design/methodology/approachThe governing equations include the continuity, induced magnetic field, momentum, energy and homogeneous–heterogeneous equations. Initially, with suitable similarity variables, the governing partial differential equations and converted into a system of ordinary differential equations. Then, the nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved by a shooting technique with the help of the BVC5C Matlab package.FindingsThe results of the present investigation are presented through graphs for different values of the various parameters. The authors observed that the large values of the stretching ratio and the induced magnetic parameters are moderate magnetic field, velocity and temperature primarily. Also, the authors found the more velocity and temperatures by boosting the slip parameters.Originality/valueIn addition, the values of the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer for various values of physical parameters are tabulated and deliberated in detail.

This study presents the impact of MHD on peristaltic flow of a dusty fluid in an endoscope. The concentric tube is filled in with an incompressible fluid which is flowing through a porous medium. The outer tube wall is flexible while the inner tube is rigid. Coupled equations for both the solid granules and the fluid have been modelled by supposing long wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions. Analytically results attained are presented through graphs. The impact of different parameters on velocity, pressure rise and streamlines have been included. It has been concluded that the trapped bolus reduces in the case of α and increases in the case of M.
