Endoscopic management of upper urinary tract transitional cell carcinoma

Abstract: Ein Schwimmer im Dunkeln: In einem bipolaren elektrochemischen System ist der Vortrieb eines leitfähigen Objekts mit dessen Lichtemission gekoppelt. Die asymmetrische Redoxaktivität auf der Oberfläche des Schwimmers (schwarze Kugel im Bild) führt zur Bildung von Gasblasen, die den Schwimmer ein Glasröhrchen hinauftreiben. Die Bewegung des Schwimmers lässt sich durch die gleichzeitige Elektrochemilumineszenz (ECL) verfolgen.

“…The endoscopic approach relies on the use of laser techniques to ablate and/or resect the tumour, which may compromise adequate pathologic evaluation, thus subjecting patients to higher instances of under-treatment.
