Emission Continua in M + M Collisions (M = Zn, Cd)

Abstract: Strong UV and weak visible continua of Zn2. Cd2 and ZnCd have been observed in emission when a discharge-excited atomic beam of zinc or cadmium is crossed with an unexcited beam of zinc or cadmium. It has been found that the discharge-excited beams of Zn and Cd contain also atoms in autoionizing states with lifetimes equal to (140 ± 30) and (110 ± 20) μsec, respectively.

“…Remote camera photographs were stored in a database and tagged with the camera identification number, treatment (baited or unbaited), session, date, time and species using EXIFPro 2.0 (Kowalski & Kowalski 2012). Tags were written to the EXIF data of each file and then exported from EXIFPro as a text file.…”

“…Surface thermodynamics mandate that the more polar or hydrophilic of the two polymers ends up in the shell (24,25). However, a more polar first stage polymer cannot invert if it is crosslinked (26) as in the synthesis of the opacifying latexes of the Rohm and Haas Company (27).…”

“…Hollow latex particles can refract light effectively because of differences in the refractive index of external shells and internal cavities. 2 They synthesized the hydrophobic shell with a hydrophilic core first and then added alkali for swelling to get the hollow latex particles. 1,2 Moreover, hollow latex particles have potential applications in medicine release, medicine carriers, medicine delivery, and other fields.…”
