Abstract:A insulina é um hormônio responsável pela quebra de moléculas de glicose no sangue e as converte em energia para manter o corpo em homeostase. Dessa forma, quando não funciona corretamente, pode ocasionar sérios danos à saúde como complicações cardiovasculares, danos aos rins e ao sistema nervoso e em casos mais graves pode ser fatal.
