Elm seed oil II. Studies on fatty acid separation

Abstract: Summary None of the procedures tried gave quantitative recoveries of saturated acids. The results obtained by the lead salt‐amylene mthod were better than those obtained with lead salts and petroleum ether. Unsaturated acids could not be determined by the amylene procedure, because of the formation of non‐volatile polymerization products from the solvent.
