Abstract:Resumo: Levantamentos geofísicos de eletrorresistividade com arranjo dipolo-dipolo em áreas de ocorrência de rochas granito-gnáissicas foram realizados visando a detecção de estruturas do tipo falhas/fraturas ou outras de interesse hidrogeológico. Wells drilling process in fractured-bedrock aquifers is a difficult task. Extreme variations in lithology and structure features, as well productive water zones sited at preferential points make geological and geophysical investigations difficult. To contribute to the understanding of the process of groundwater zones occurrence in fractured-bedrock aquifers, this paper develops a drilling prospective model by using regression analysis, whose parameters were calibrated according to the photogeological and cartographic analysis of 113 drilling points in the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, and Ceará. The effectiveness of the resulting model was assessed through a sample of 43 additional drillings, which were carried out aiming at the distribution of water to the communities in the semiarid region of Brazil. The obtained results indicate the model as an important tool in the drilling process, with direct implications on the logistics costs of water well site location and consequent attendance to the population that needs the water.

Resumo: A prospecção de água subterrânea em aquíferos fraturados depende do adequado reconhecimento de lineamentos tectônicos, o que pode ser dificultado em áreas urbanas. Com base nesta condição, foi realizado um estudo com radônio contido nos gases dos solos em quatro localidades na região do Granito Santana e Granito Viamão, no Município de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. Complementarmente, foram realizados levantamentos geofísicos de eletrorresistividade com arranjo dipolo-dipolo com o objetivo de comparar os resultados com os de radônio. Nas quatro áreas de estudo observou-se uma boa correlação entre os dois métodos. Nas regiões de baixa resistividade foram registradas anomalias positivas de radônio, atingindo valores de até 7 vezes o background na região (2.500 Bq/m 3 em zonas não fraturadas) para valores de 21.157 Bq/m 3 nas áreas onde ocorrem os fraturamentos.

Resistividade.Abstract: Groundwater prospecting in fractured aquifers depends on the detection of tectonic lineaments, which may be difficult in urban areas. A survey was carried out using radon soil gases concentrations in four localities in the region of Granite Santana and Viamão Granite, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, in order to test the method for water prospecting in fractured aquifers. The radon data have been compared with electrical resistivity survey executed using dipole-dipole arrangement. At four studied areas, an interesting correlation was noted between the two methods. At regions of low resistivity, positive radon anomalies were found in fracture zones, reaching values up to 7 times the background of the region, starting from a concentration value of 2500 Bq/m 3 in a non-fractured zones to 22187 Bq /m 3 in the fractured zones.
