Electrospraying Graphene Nanosheets on Polyvinyl Alcohol Nanofibers for Efficient Thermal Management Materials

Abstract: With the rapid development of electronic devices, the demand for heat-dissipating materials is increasing. Graphene is a two-dimensional (2D) material with high thermal conductivity. In this study, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanosheets are electrostatically sprayed on the surface of electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofibers. A multilayer rGO/PVA film is fabricated by performing multi-step electrospinning and electrospraying. Finally, the multilayer rGO/PVA films are cut into small pieces and stacked for… Show more

“…Optical photographs of the F-FG-400/PVA film in the inset further demonstrate its excellent flexibility, making it suitable for use in flexible devices. Figure f and Table show that N-FG-400/PVA and F-FG-400/PVA had superior thermal management capability and excellent mechanical properties compared to other recent polymer-based composites, including rGO/PVA, graphene nanoplatelets/polydimethylsiloxane/fluorinated graphene (GnP@PDMS/GF), MXene@Ag/PVA, PVA/fluorographene nanosheets (FGN), PVA/rGO, epoxy/fluorinated graphene aerogel (FGA), and FGA/PDMS Figure S5 summarizes the effect of F-doping on the electric conductivity of the composite films, as determined by volume resistivity testing.…”

“…An alternative approach is to modify obtained nanofibers with nanoparticles (applied from suspension); , however, also in this case, the control of distribution of metal nanoparticles within the mat is limited. Clearly, to have control on the geometry of structures included in the mat as well as to ensure uniform distribution within the nanofiber bulk, using polymer suspension with ready structures is the safer option.…”
