Electronic excitation dynamics and energy transfer in lithium-gadolinium borates doped by rare earths

Show more

“…This emission broadband around 402 nm is the overlap of these two components. This kind of broadband emission can also be observed in the Ce-doped Li 6 Gd(BO 3 ) 3 crystals [7,25].…”

“…In the excitation spectra, there are three excitation bands around 238, 307 and 350 nm. The band around 350 nm corresponds to the transition of electrons from 2 F 5/2 level to the lowest 5d level of Ce 3 + ions [25]. And the other bands correspond to the transitions of electrons from 2 F 5/2 level to the higher 5d levels of Ce 3 + ions.…”

“…Indeed, over time, the recombination front moves over larger distances r which characterized by lower values of W(r). Expression (19) explains the observed decrease in the reaction rate constant K(t) with time. It should be noted that the exact numerical solution of the Smoluchowski equation for LGBO at 293 K [38] coincides with Eq.…”

“…[12][13][14][15]. Intrinsic luminescence of LGBO crystals and luminescence of Ce 3 þ and Eu 3 þ impurities in these crystals have been investigated in detail for different types of excitation over a wide temperature range from 4 to 500 K. These LGBO emissions have been studied not only upon selective photoexcitation in the UV [1,4,3,16,17], vacuum UV (VUV) [18][19][20][21] and soft X-rays [22,23] energy regions, but the laboratory excitation sources of ionizing radiation as well [24][25][26]. Optical properties of LGBO crystals in the temperature range of 77-300 K were studied in Refs.…”
