Electrochemical sensory detection ofSus scrofamtDNA for food adulteration using hybrid ferrocenylnaphthalene diimide intercalator as a hybridization indicator

Abstract: An electrochemical DNA biosensor was developed based on the fabrication of silicon nanowires/platinum nanoparticles on a screen-printed carbon electrode for the detection of Sus scrofa mitochondrial DNA in food.

“…However, most earlier MB research focused on synthetic DNA sequences or puried samples, and the use of MB for electrochemical detection based on large DNA sequences from real samples is currently still limited. Most recent works related to electrochemical DNA biosensors have focused on studying miniaturized electrochemical sensor devices, 22 amplication signals, 23,24 biorecognition probes with new detection mechanisms, 25 and the optimization of immobilization and hybridization conditions. 26 However, far too little attention has been focused on the preparation of genomic DNA samples for electrochemical detection.…”

“…18 Analytical chemistry guarantees food safety and quality through the development of reliable sensitive and selective analytical methods to detect and quantify food adulterants and food ingredients. [19][20][21][22] Analytical reports provide authorities, food suppliers and consumers with the evidence necessary to build condence in food authenticity, safety and quality. 23 Analyzing pharmaceutical and food products is a highly multivariate process, as many factors (parameters) may be involved during the analysis.…”
