Electrochemical Sensing of Ascorbic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide and Glucose by Bimetallic (Fe, Ni)−CNTs Composite Modified Electrode

Abstract: In this research, bimetallic supported CNT modified electrode (Fe,Ni/CNTs/GCE) has been developed for sensitive, stable and highly elctroactive sensing of glucose, ascorbic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Transition metals such as Iron (Fe) and Nickel (Ni) offer high electrical and thermal conductance, high active surface‐to‐volume ratio and presence of d‐band electrons gives enhanced electrocatalytic behavior. While, CNTs provide high surface area, stability and excellent conductivity. Synthesized material is cha… Show more

“…An approach based on petal-like chromium hexacyanoferrate (Cr-hcf) crystallites yielded 17 ppb detection limit, this later material being specifically studied because of its electrocatalytic activity in the reduction of H 2 O 2 [ 75 ]. As in the previous sections, the use of these two types of 3D structuration appeared to lead to large improvement (more than one order of magnitude) of performances compared to more traditional 2D architecture such as [ 189 , 190 ] (also metal based).…”

“…Real-time analysis was also performed in some commercial beverages for glucose and different contact lens solution for H 2 O 2 and achieved good correlation with existing values [ 88 ]. The different combination of bimetallic AuCu, PtCu, and Fe, Ni-CNTs were successfully tested for NEGHS and achieved high sensing parameters [ 89 , 90 , 91 ].…”

“…Considering the enzyme‐mimic activity and excellent catalytic properties, noble metals, metal oxides and carbon materials have been widely investigated [19] . To enhance performance of the sensing materials, many attempts have been made to fabricate composites of metals with other metals, with polymers and carbon based materials [20,21] . Importantly, the combination of various nanozymes might exhibit the improved activity.…”
